The approximate total emoluments include HRA and other applicable allowances at Chandigarh. CSIR employees are also eligible for benefits such as DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, medical reimbursement, LTC and Children Education Allowance as per rules.
CSIR-CSIO Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
The minimum age is 18 years. The maximum age limit is 35 years for Security Officer, 28 years for Receptionist and 27 years for Driver, calculated as on the last date of submission of the online application. Applicable age relaxation will be provided to eligible reserved categories as per Government of India/CSIR rules.

Security Officer: Physical & Personality Assessment Test → Written Examination → Final Merit based on Written Examination.
Receptionist: Personality Assessment Test.
Driver: Skill Test → Written Examination → Final Merit based on Written Examination.
CSIR-CSIO Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern
Security Officer
The written examination consists of two papers. Paper-I is an objective-type Mental Ability and Personality Assessment Test of 100 questions/100 marks, with no negative marking. Paper-II carries 100 marks covering Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations/Firefighting and General Awareness.
Driver
The Driver written examination contains 100 questions for 300 marks with a total duration of 90 minutes.

There is one negative mark for every wrong answer. The examination is OMR-based or computer-based and the standard is Class 10 level.
