CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has released Advertisement No. R&A/01/2026 for recruitment to the post of Technician (1) on a direct recruitment basis. A total of 43 vacancies are available under Group-C, Pay Matrix Level-2 with a salary of ₹19,900–63,200/-. The online application process starts on 18 August 2026 and the last date to apply is 17 September 2026.

Eligible candidates with 10th/SSC with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks, along with the relevant ITI/Trade qualification or prescribed apprenticeship/work experience, can apply. The maximum age is 28 years as on the closing date, with applicable relaxation for reserved categories.

CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 Vacancies & Qualification

The notification prescribes 55% marks in 10th/SSC with Science subjects and, depending on the trade, either the relevant ITI/National/State Trade Certificate, 2 years’ full-time apprenticeship, or 3 years’ relevant work experience in the specified government/PSU/autonomous-body setup.

CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed as Technician (1), Group-C in Pay Matrix Level-2 with a basic pay scale of:

₹19,900 – ₹63,200/-

In addition to basic pay, candidates will receive applicable allowances such as HRA and Travelling Allowance at Central Government rates. Other benefits including LTC, medical reimbursement and Children’s Education Allowance are available as per CSIR rules.

CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

1. Screening of Applications
2. Trade Test
3. Competitive Written Examination

The Trade Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the Trade Test will appear in the written examination. Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates who obtain the prescribed minimum threshold marks in Paper-I. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III.

CSIR Technician Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern

The written examination will be OMR-based or Computer-Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination. Questions will generally be available in English and Hindi, except the English Language section.

Negative Marking

• Paper-I: No negative marking.
• Paper-II & Paper-III: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Paper-I covers General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Problem Solving and Situational Judgement.
