SBI Clerk Vacancy 2026
SBI has announced 9,124 Junior Associate vacancies under this recruitment drive. These include 7,680 regular vacancies and 1,444 backlog vacancies.
The vacancies are distributed among different SBI circles covering 24 States and Union Territories. Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT.

Educational Qualification
Candidates should have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Candidates who are currently studying in the final year or final semester of graduation can also apply provisionally. However, they must obtain proof of passing their graduation examination by 31 December 2026.
Candidates possessing an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure that the date of passing their IDD is on or before 31 December 2026.
Certain eligible Ex-Servicemen with the prescribed Indian Army/Navy/Air Force educational certificates may also apply as per SBI’s recruitment rules.

The SBI Junior Associate post offers an attractive salary package along with various allowances and benefits.
The starting Basic Pay is ₹26,730, which includes two advance increments available to graduates.
The prescribed pay scale is:

The total starting emoluments for a newly recruited graduate Junior Associate posted in a metropolitan city such as Mumbai can be around ₹46,000 per month, depending on applicable allowances and the place of posting.

SBI Clerk Selection Process 2026
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination

The Preliminary Examination is used for shortlisting candidates for the Main Examination. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not added to the final merit score.
SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
The Preliminary Examination contains three sections.

The Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) will be applicable to provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the required local language in Class 10 or Class 12.
Candidates who provide valid educational proof showing that they studied the specified language may be exempted from this test.

SBI Clerk 2026 Special Benefit for SBI Apprentices
Certain SBI-trained apprentices who satisfy the conditions mentioned in the notification can receive an additional benefit in the Main Examination.
Eligible apprentices who completed the required branch experience and meet the prescribed conduct and performance requirements may receive a bonus equivalent to 2.5% of the maximum Main Examination marks, i.e. 5 marks out of 200.
